This collection is all about creating funny, quirky and lovable bird characters, each with its own unique look and personality. From oversized googly eyes to funny feathers, curious expressions and unexpected little details, every bird is designed to make you smile.
The collection will grow step by step, with each new pattern being carefully designed, tested and refined before it joins the flock. My goal is to create patterns that are not only fun to crochet, but also result in characters you can truly fall in love with. So keep an eye on the flock, there are many Funny Birds waiting to hatch!

Hi, I’m Nicole, the person behind Nikkie Crochet Designs. My crochet story started in 2025, when I picked up a crochet hook and started making amigurumi after seeing all those adorable little creatures popping up on social media. I thought I’d give it a try and before I knew it, I was completely hooked. What started with making other people’s patterns soon turned into something else. My head filled up with ideas for little characters, funny animals and all sorts of details I wanted to try. The only problem was that the ideas started coming faster than I could crochet them! And then came the moment I realised that I wanted to design my own patterns. That was the beginning of Nikkie Crochet Designs.

I love creating characters that are a little bit different, with their own personality and plenty of funny little details. I especially enjoy taking an ordinary animal and giving it a quirky twist, because I believe the best characters are the ones that make you smile before you’ve even picked up your crochet hook.
Every design starts as an idea in my head and goes through plenty of experimenting, tweaking, frogging and trying again before it becomes a finished pattern. Each pattern is carefully tested and refined because I want the finished creation to be just as much fun to make as it was to design.
And yes, there are still far more ideas in my head than I could possibly crochet. So this is only the beginning. Welcome to my little world of yarn, funny characters. I’m so happy you’re here!
